Why does it seem like my fingernails always get longer after I shower?

Being in water actuall dehydrates your skin and makes it shrink like when you prune. It pulls the skin of your fingers back and makes it look like your nails are sticking out farther. Why does it seem like my fingernails always get longer after I shower?
i'm pretty sure it's because under your nail is getting cleaned out so the white part (the top) of your nail looks more defined and longer because there's no more dirt or anything underneath. i know what you mean! lolWhy does it seem like my fingernails always get longer after I shower?
I can't believe this is actually occuring, but if you think it is,who am I to dispute it.
