Why do fingernails grow much quicker than toenails?

You have more stimulation in your fingers than your toes.

You are constantly bending or moving your fingers. This stimulates them and makes your nails grow faster.

Yes you do walk on your toes but you are not constantly moving them to create as much stimulation. Why do fingernails grow much quicker than toenails?
I think nails grow quicker when they are exposed to sunlight and obviously your hands are more exposed than your feet. Why do fingernails grow much quicker than toenails?
Just look at the thickness of toenails as compared to fingernails and you have the answer.
go on get out of the house it may help with daft question problem you seem to suffer
My toe nails grow longer cos I bite my finger nails and can't reach my toes.
For me its the opposite.
they do
they are smaller.
This my own theory and I could be way out in left field, but I think it's because your feet spend more time covered than your hands.
I believe it has something to do with the circulatory system of the body not getting enough O2 and other vital nutrients as well as in the fingers.
